Digital engineering company Nitor continued its strong performance in 2025 despite challenging market conditions in the ICT services sector. The company’s core business developed positively, and profitability improved markedly.

Nitor reported revenue of approximately €40.2 million in 2025. Adjusted EBITDA (€5.5 million) improved by roughly one million euros compared to the previous year, representing a growth of 23 per cent.

“2025 was a year of sharpening focus for Nitor. We doubled down on our core offering and on building long-term client partnerships. This approach clearly strengthened our profitability, even in a difficult market,” says Jens Krogell, who stepped into the role of CEO at the start of 2026.

AI defined much of Nitor’s development agenda in 2025, encompassing its application in software development, processes, and building AI solutions for clients. Alongside AI, the company prioritised a composable architecture and strengthened its data and AI business.

A growing client base and consistently high satisfaction

Nitor’s strongest client growth in 2025 came from entertainment and gaming, retail, and healthcare. The customer portfolio expanded in the defence and health tech sectors, while also reaching international markets. At the same time, customers continued to invest heavily in AI, enhancing customer experience, and adopting data-driven business practices.

“We see customer interest moving from experimentation to systematic AI adoption. Our role is to help integrate AI into digital products, processes, and development frameworks in a controlled, business-driven way,” Krogell explains.

New clients in 2025 included healthcare companies Terveystalo and the U.S.-based Chartis Leap AI Studio. Nitor also continued its collaboration with Aiforia, which specialises in medical image analysis technology. The solutions developed with clients in this sector combine artificial intelligence, design, and technology. Nitor’s long-standing clients also include S Group, Kesko, Marimekko, Supercell, OP, Elisa, DNA, Finnair, and Posti.

In its annual client survey, Nitor once again achieved top results. For more than a decade, Nitor has consistently recorded the highest client satisfaction scores within the benchmark set maintained by research company Onway. High client satisfaction reflects the company’s success in building long-term client relationships and strengthening its delivery capability. In the latest survey, the Net Promoter Score (NPS) was 82.

Nitor continued its determined sustainability work in 2025, publishing its first sustainability report. To strengthen its environmental responsibility, the company partnered with the John Nurminen Foundation and the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation to support conservation efforts. It also continued its commitment to diversity and equality by joining the Women in Tech network. The company also supports its clients in building accessible digital services and in applying artificial intelligence thoughtfully as part of their development work.

Strong start to 2026, recruitment remains active

At the end of 2025, Nitor employed over 300 digital engineers, welcoming around 27 new professionals during the year. Recruitment focused not only on software development but also on data engineering and AI-related roles, where demand is clearly rising. Already in early 2026, Nitor has added around 30 more experts to its team.

The company also strengthened its management team during the year by appointing Mika Majakorpi as CTO and Heini Kautonen as CFO. In October, Olli Auvinen moved from the role of CEO to Senior Advisor.

Nitor continued close and productive collaboration with its two associate companies, Renessai, focused on AI strategy consulting, and Hi Shine, a creative brand and technology agency.

Nitor expects demand to remain stable in 2026. In particular, demand for AI solutions, agentic software development, and cloud and data solutions is increasing. The company got off to a strong start in the first quarter, and its goal is to drive growth in selected focus areas and further improve profitability.

“2025 laid a solid foundation for the future. From a financial perspective, we are now in a position where our business is more balanced and predictable, and the excellent start to the year has further reinforced this outlook. This gives us a solid basis for developing our operations and supporting growth in our selected focus areas,” says CFO Heini Kautonen.
